SIX INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED AS RESULT OF ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON – On Monday, July 28, 2025, at approximately 2:06 p.m., six individuals attended the Cornwall Square and subsequently robbed a jewelry store. Members of the Cornwall Police Service were immediately dispatched to the scene.

It is alleged the suspects concealed their identity by wearing face coverings and hooded sweaters, proceeded to smash the protected glass jewelry display case using hammers and stole a large quantity of jewelry. The suspects placed the items in garbage bags and fled the store.

As the suspects entered a motor vehicle, they were apprehended and arrested by Ottawa Police Service members, who were in the area as part of an ongoing robbery investigation. Members of the CPS assisted with the arrests as well as the ensuing investigation – led by the Criminal Investigation Division.

Six individuals were arrested:

A 24-year-old man from Ottawa was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Robbery with theft
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

An 18-year-old man from Ottawa was charged with the following:

  • Robbery with theft
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

A 16-year-old youth from Ottawa was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with undertaking
  • Robbery with theft
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

A 16-year-old youth from Ottawa was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

A 16-year-old youth from Ottawa was charged with the following:

  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

A 16-year-old youth from Ottawa was charged with the following:

  • Robbery with theft
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

The individuals were taken into custody, charged accordingly and each held in Cornwall for bail hearings.
