Media Release - Sept. 14, 2026

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 11, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on Sept. 9, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not communicate directly or indirectly with an individual known to her. It is further alleged on this date, she communicated with the individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Sept. 11, 2026, the woman was located by a Cornwall Police Service officer. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 11, 2026, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Sept. 10, 2026, the man punched an individual in the face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Sept. 11, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 12, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. In the early morning hours of Sept. 12, 2026, CPS officers responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his girlfriend and to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows her to live, work or frequent. It is further alleged the man was in contact with his girlfriend. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 12, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 10, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court – as per undertaking. In the early morning hours of Sept. 12, 2026, the woman was located by police, who were investigating an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and she was later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, RESIST PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 12, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order and resist peace officer. On Sept. 12, 2026, a CPS officer initiated an investigation into a bail violation complaint. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence at all times. It is also alleged he failed to remain in his residence. The man was subsequently located by a CPS officer and, while being taken into custody, allegedly physically resisted arrest. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

INDECENT ACT

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 13, 2026, and charged with indecent act. On Sept. 13, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a disturbance, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man exposed himself to an individual. He was subsequently located and taken into police custody. The man was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 13, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 13, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged she attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 13, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 13, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is further alleged he attended the business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 193 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
