FRAUD, USE OF CREDIT CARD DATA, THEFT, MAKE DOCUMENT WITHOUT AUTHORITY, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME
Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Oct. 29, 2024, and charged with the following:
- Five counts of fraud over $5,000
- Seven counts of fraud under $5,000
- Six counts of use credit card data
- Make document without authority
- Theft over $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
It is alleged from January 2020 to March 2022, the man defrauded his girlfriend by withdrawing funds from her account without her knowledge or consent, used her credit card data and drew a document without authority. It is also alleged the man stole from his girlfriend and was in possession of property obtained by crime. Police were contacted and a lengthy investigation ensued by the Criminal Investigation Division.
On Oct. 29, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 26, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Oct. 29, 2024, and charged with four counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on Oct. 26, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not attend a specific business on First Street East and to not be within 100 metres of any place she knows her ex-boyfriend to live, work or frequent. It is also alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On Oct. 26, 2024, police responded to a bail violation call and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman attended the business she was prohibited from attending. On Oct. 29, 2024, police responded to a disturb the peace call at the First Street East business and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.
FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Oct. 29, 2024, and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order
- Two counts of fail to comply with undertaking
- Mischief under $5,000
It is alleged on Oct. 29, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not contact his mother and to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows his mother to live, work or frequent. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his mother and to not go within 100 metres of his mother’s place of residence or work. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended his mother’s residence and damaged her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was later located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.
