DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Oct. 23, 2024, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Oct. 23, 2024, the man punched his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on Nov. 12, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

WARRANT, UTTERING THREATS, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Oct. 23, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on July 30, 2024, the youth made threats to cause bodily harm to a loss prevention officer and assaulted the man with a weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the youth’s arrest. On Oct. 23, 2024, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and the youth was released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  

PUBLICATION OF INTIMATE IMAGE WITHOUT CONSENT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Oct. 23, 2024, and charged with publication of an intimate image without consent and criminal harassment – beset and watch person known to complainant. It is alleged on Oct. 20, 2024, the man distributed intimate images of his ex-girlfriend to another individual. It is also alleged on this date, he harassed his ex-girlfriend by watching her at work. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 23, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 28, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

There were 67 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
