MISCHIEF, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Nov. 5, 2024, and charged with mischief – destroys or damages property and assault. It is alleged on Nov. 2, 2024, the youth attended the mall, punched walls and assaulted an individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 5, 2024, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Ross Rowsell, 70, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 5, 2024, and charged with mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property. It is alleged, on several occasions, the man interfered with his neighbour’s lawful use and enjoyment of their property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 5, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 12, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ARSON

Cornwall, ON – William Miller, 48, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 5, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of arson. It is alleged on Nov. 5, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to notify of any change of address. On Nov. 5, 2024, police were dispatched to the area of Second Street East to assist the Cornwall Fire Services with possible arson and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man allegedly started the fire. It is also alleged he failed to notify of a change of address. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.

There were 60 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
