MAN ARRESTED IN RELATION TO RECENT THEFTS, ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON – The suspect in the recent theft and a robbery events has turned himself in to police.

On Nov. 25, 2024, the Cornwall Police Service asked for public assistance in identifying an individual in relation to multiple theft and robbery events which occurred recently.

Early this morning, Joseph MacDow, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of theft under $5,000
  • Robbery with theft

It is alleged on Nov. 16, 2024, the man attended a Fourteenth Street West establishment, and stole money. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Later on Nov. 16, 2024, the man allegedly robbed a Fourteenth Street West restaurant. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Finally, it is alleged on Nov. 21, 2024, the man attended a Brookdale Avenue restaurant and stole money. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Additionally, in all three incidents, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

A suspect was subsequently identified through further investigation by a member of the Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of several members of the community.

On Nov. 26, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matters. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
