WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Nov. 19, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Nov. 7, 2024, the youth was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Nov. 19, 2024, the youth was located by police who were dealing with a separate matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice act.
FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Nov. 19, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with an order and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on Sept. 20, 2024, the youth was bound by an order with the relevant condition to not contact his mother. Is also alleged on this date, he phoned his mother and threatened to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 19, 2024, the youth was located by police at the courthouse. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Michelle David, 38, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Oct. 21, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend specific stores in the City of Cornwall. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended a business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 19, 2024, police located the woman while dealing with a separate matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 31, 2024.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Riley Mitchel, 33, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Oct. 21, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 19, 2024, police located the woman while on general patrol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 31, 2024.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Megan Lozo, 25, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Nov. 19, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on Dec. 31, 2024.
FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Nov. 19, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order and one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Nov. 4, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to report to the bail supervision program. It is also alleged on this date, the man failed to report to the bail supervision program. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Furthermore, it is alleged on Nov. 19, 2024, the man was bound by a separate release order with the relevant condition to not be within 100 metres of his mother’s residence, place of work or anywhere else she may frequent. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended his mother’s residence and damaged her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was later located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Tina Benedict, 60, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 31, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Nov. 19, 2024, the woman was taken into custody by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and she was held for a bail hearing.
