FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 6, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 16, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Furthermore, it is alleged on March 28, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 6, 2025, the woman was located at the courthouse. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 6, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
  • Harassing communications

It is alleged on March 28, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not communicate in any way with his ex-girlfriend and to not access nor use any communication device unless approved by and while in the presence of his surety. It is also alleged on this date, the man sent dozens of text messages to his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On May 6, 2025, the man was located at the courthouse. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 27, 2025.  

FAIL TO COMPLY, UNLAWFULLY IN DWELLING HOUSE

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on May 6, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with release order and unlawfully in dwelling house. On May 6, 2025, the youth was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate with a specific individual. It is also alleged on this date, the youth attended the residence and communicated with the individual she was prohibited from contacting. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 6, 2025, and charged with domestic assault. On May 6, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service responded to a person welfare check and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man punched his spouse. He was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on May 6, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with five counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to report to the bail supervision program, to reside at an address approved by the bail supervision program, to reside at a specific address, to notify the officer in charge at the CPS of any change of address within 24 hours and to reside at an address verified by the bail program. Furthermore, it is alleged, the man breached the conditions of his release. On May 6, 2025, he was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 62-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 6, 2025, and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on May 1, 2025, the man sexually assaulted a woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 6, 2025, police responded to an unwanted person call and the man was subsequently located. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 12, 2025.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, FAIL TO ATTEND, SHOPLIFTING, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 7, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Fail to attend court
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

It is alleged on Feb. 27, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to report to the bail supervision program. It is also alleged on this date, the woman failed to report to the bail supervision program. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on March 4, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to report to the bail supervision program. It is also alleged on this date, the woman failed to report to the bail supervision program. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on March 25, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so.  A warrant was issued for her arrest.

It is alleged on April 23, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street East business. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended the business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item, which she then damaged. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On May 7, 2025, members of the CPS responded to a warrant call. The woman was located, the warrant was executed, and she was held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on May 7, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80 as well as possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine. On May 7, 2025, the man was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. It is alleged on this date, the man was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of cocaine. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 66-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 7, 2025, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on May 7, 2025, the woman assaulted her husband. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.

WARRANTS, ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 8, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with two counts of fail to attend court and two counts of assault a peace officer.

It is alleged on Jan. 23, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. It is also alleged on Feb. 6, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for her arrest.

On May 8, 2025, the woman was located by police. While being taken into custody, she assaulted a peace officer. The warrants were executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 8, 2025, and charged with mischief – destroys or damages property. On May 8, 2025, members of the CPS responded to a domestic dispute and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman damaged her boyfriend’s property. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.
