FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Valleyfield, QC, was arrested on May 28, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on May 26, 2026, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to report to the Cornwall Police Service on a weekly basis. It is further alleged on this date, she failed to report to the CPS. On May 28, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged that twice on May 11, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged that twice on March 11, 2026, the woman attended a Marlborough Street convenience store, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On May 28, 2026, the woman was located at the courthouse. She was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.
ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2026, and charged with assault with a weapon. On May 28, 2026, while on general patrol in the City of Cornwall, a CPS officer was approached by an individual who reported a fight in the area of Second Street East. It is alleged on this date, the youth threw an item at an individual known to him, constituting assault with a weapon. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On May, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and released to appear in court at a later date.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. On May 24, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate in any way with his ex-spouse. It is further alleged on this date, the man attempted to communicate with his ex-spouse via a third-party. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On May 28, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND, SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and also charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting and assault
It is alleged on May 25, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.
It is also alleged on May 28, 2026, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. It is further alleged the man assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer while being detained at the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently turned over to a CPS officer. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
