THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 21, 2025, the man attended a shopping mall, cut the lock securing a bicycle, and subsequently departed the area with the stolen bicycle in his possession. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 28, 2025, a member of the Cornwall Police Service was dispatched to the shopping mall after the Loss Prevention Officer reported that the individual was once again present at the location. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 8, 2025.
KIDNAPPING, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Lake County, BC, was arrested on May 28, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Kidnapping
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
It is alleged on May 18, 2025, the man abducted an individual, physically assaulted him causing injuries, and struck him with a baseball bat. It is also alleged he was in possession of brass knuckles. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 28, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on May 23, 2025, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with a special individual. It is also alleged on this date, she communicated with the man she was prohibited from contacting. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 28, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 61-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on May 28, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on July 8, 2025.
