FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESION OF PROHIBITED DEVICE, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, DISGUISE WITH INTENT, UTTERING THREATS, RESIST PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 15, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Six counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Uttering threats to damage property
  • Disguise with intent
  • Resist peace officer

On May 15, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service responded to weapons call in the area of Water Street. An investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any prohibited weapons. He was also bound by six separate prohibition orders, each with the relevant condition to not possess any prohibited weapons. Furthermore, it is alleged, he punched an individual in the face and assaulted him with an edged weapon. He also threatened to assault the individual again and damage his property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by police and was wearing a balaclava. It is also alleged he resisted arrest. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, MICHIEF TO RELIGIOUS PROPERTY, THEFT FROM MAIL

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 15, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Mischief to religious property under $5,000
  • Theft from mail

It is alleged on May 15, 2025, the woman was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged on this date, the woman vandalized a religious property and stole mail from the establishment. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. In the early morning hours of May 16, 2025, the woman was located by members of the CPS who were on general patrol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 65 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today).
