MAN FACES NUMEROUS CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

Cornwall, ON – A 61-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 25, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of making child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age
  • Sexual interference

In November 2025, a Cornwall Police Service detective within the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit began a child pornography investigation, and on Dec. 10, 2025, a search warrant was executed. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of, produced and accessed child sexual abuse material, and possessed it for the purpose of distribution.

It is further alleged on July 26, 2025, the man sexually assaulted and committed sexual interference on a person under the age of 16.

As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.

On March 25, 2026, members of the CPS executed a warrant. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on March 25, 2026, and charged with 25 counts of fail to comply with probation order and 13 counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on Jan. 20, Jan. 21, Jan. 24, Jan. 25, Jan. 26, Jan. 27, Feb. 1, Feb. 4, March 4 and March 5, of 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is further alleged on these dates, the woman attended the Second Street East business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer (CSO). As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

It is alleged on Feb. 1, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a CSO. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

It is alleged on March 3 and March 12, of 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is further alleged on these dates, the woman attended the Ninth Street West business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a CSO. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

On March 25, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer at the courthouse. She was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Williamstown was arrested on March 25, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on March 18, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared. On March 25, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.
