FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on June 8, 2026, and charged with four counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of domestic assault. On June 5, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on June 3, 2026, the youth was bound by two separate undertakings, each with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend and to not attend or be within 50 metres of her. It is further alleged on this date, he was in contact with his ex-girlfriend and punched her. On June 8, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Montreal was arrested on June 8, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants.

It is alleged on Aug. 4, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking. It is also alleged on Aug. 9, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking.

On June 8, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrants were executed and he was released to appear in court on July 14, 2026.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 63-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on June 8, 2026, and charged with criminal harassment – beset and watch complainant. On June 4, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to investigate a harassment complaint. It is alleged on June 3, 2026, the man repeatedly watched and monitored his neighbour’s residence without lawful authority, causing the woman to fear for her safety. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On June 8, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a police information call. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on July 14, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 61-year-old woman from Akwesasne was arrested on June 9, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 27, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court after having appeared. In the early morning hours of June 9, 2026, the woman was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on July 14, 2026.
