POSSESSION OF CREDIT CARD, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 8, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Possession of a credit card
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking
On May 16, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to investigate a fraud complaint after the victim reported that her wallet had been stolen from her motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the woman was allegedly in possession of a stolen credit card and used it to make a fraudulent transaction on this date. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest.
It is further alleged on July 2, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. Reasonable and probable grounds were once again developed for her arrest.
On July 8, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 4, 2026.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 8, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On Nov. 19, 2025, a CPS officer was dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged in between Jan. 1, 2022, and July 17, 2025, the man assaulted his spouse. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of two counts of domestic assault. On July 8, 2026, the man attended police headquarters for an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody and the warrant was executed. The man was held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 8, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 12, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. A warrant was subsequently issued for the woman’s arrest on the charges of fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. On July 8, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and she was later released to appear in court on Aug. 13, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 8, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and operation while prohibited. On July 8, 2026, a CPS detective initiated a traffic stop, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 25, 2026.
UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 8, 2026, and charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on June 28, 2026, the woman threatened to kill two family members. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On July 8, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 11, 2026.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 8, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on April 16, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking. On July 8, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on Aug. 25, 2026.
