ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on July 27, 2026, and charged with assault. On the evening of July 24, 2026, an individual was allegedly assaulted by several youths at Lamoureux Park. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the youth’s arrest. On July 27, 2026, he was located by a Cornwall Police Service officer, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO COMPLY, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 28, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and two counts of criminal harassment – beset and watch complainant.

On July 26 and July 28, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to investigate intimate partner violence bail complaints. It is alleged on each of these dates, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend within 100 metres of his ex-spouse’s person, place of residence, employment, recreation, worship or any place she may be. It is further alleged on these dates, the man harassed his ex-spouse by watching her dwelling house, causing the woman to reasonably fear for her safety. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. Later on July 28, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.  

FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 28, 2026, on the strength of multiple outstanding warrants and additionally charged with fail to comply with release order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on March 4, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charges of fail to comply with release order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on March 23, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.

It is alleged on May 5, 2026, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charge of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged that twice on April 26, 2026, and on May 3, 2026, as well as May 15, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not attend another specific Ninth Street West business. It is further alleged on these dates, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted after each occurrence, and investigations ensued. Four separate warrants were subsequently issued for his arrest, each on the charges of fail to comply with release order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on May 7, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.

On July 28, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an unwanted person complaint, and the man was subsequently located by police. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 28, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with fail to comply with undertaking.

It is alleged on June 1, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking.

It is alleged on June 30, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking.

On July 28, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, she was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with a specific individual. The woman was located by police, and it is further alleged she was in contact with the individual she was prohibited from communicating with. The warrants were executed, she was charged accordingly and later later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.

ADMINISTER NOXIOUS THING, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old youth from Cornwall were arrested on July 28, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Five counts of administer noxious thing with intent to aggrieve or annoy
• Five counts of assault with a weapon
• Five counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

On July 27, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a weapons call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, three youths sprayed an individual known to them in the eyes with bear spray before fleeing the scene. Police subsequently responded to three additional calls for service after the youths allegedly sprayed four other individuals with the noxious substance in separate incidents at various locations throughout the City of Cornwall. Two youths were located and arrested by CPS officers on July 27, 2026. On July 28, 2026, the 12-year-old youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 29, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants.

It is alleged on April 8, April 10, and April 17, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so on each occasion. Warrants were issued for his arrest on the charges of three counts of failure to attend court after having appeared.

In the early morning hours of July 29, 2026, police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located and taken into police custody. The warrants were executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 29, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants.

It is alleged between May 8, 2026, and July 13, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer immediately and after that, at all times as directed by the probation officer. It is further alleged she failed to do so, and as a result, warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with probation order.

It is alleged on July 4, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court.

In the early morning hours of July 29, 2026, police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint, and an investigation ensued. The woman was located and taken into police custody. The warrants were executed and she was later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.
