FAIL TO COMPLY, ADMINISTER NOXIOUS THING, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth from Williamstown and a 15-year-old youth from Cornwall were arrested on July 27, 2026, and each charged with the following:

• Five counts of fail to comply with youth sentence order
• Five counts of administer noxious thing with intent to aggrieve or annoy
• Five counts of assault with a weapon
• Five counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

On the morning of July 27, 2026, Cornwall Police Service officers were dispatched to a weapons call, and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on this date, the two youths were each bound by a youth sentence order prohibiting them from possessing any weapon or anything designed to be used, or intended for use, to cause death or injury, or to threaten or intimidate any person. It is further alleged they sprayed an individual known to them in the eyes with bear spray before fleeing the scene.

Police subsequently responded to three additional calls for service after the youths allegedly sprayed four other individuals with the noxious substance in separate incidents at various locations throughout the City of Cornwall.

CPS officers located the three youths a short time later.

Two of the individuals were taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They were held for bail hearings.

A third youth was apprehended and, after the investigation was concluded, was released unconditionally.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 27, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Two counts of fail to comply with undertaking
• Break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
• Criminal harassment – repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

On July 27, 2026, members of the CPS responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with his ex-spouse and to not attend her residence. It is further alleged he unlawfully entered the woman’s residence, harassed her by engaging in conduct that caused her to reasonably fear for her safety, and was in possession of her property.

The man was subsequently located by a member of the CPS, who initiated a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 69 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today).
