FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 23, 2026, and charged with four counts of fail to comply with probation order and two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on April 22, 2026, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, he attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the man’s arrest.

It is further alleged on May 11, 2026, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, he attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the man’s arrest.

On July 23, 2026, the man was located by a member of the Cornwall Police Service. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 56-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 23, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on April 15, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On July 23, 2026, the man attended police headquarters for an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 26, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old man from Finch, ON, was arrested on July 23, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 21, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend court after having appeared. On July 23, 2026, the man was located by police at the courthouse. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80, DRIVE VEHICLE WITH CANNABIS READILY AVAILABLE, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 23, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
• Seven counts of operation while prohibited

On July 23, 2026, a CPS officer initiated a traffic stop after the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system detected a vehicle’s licence plate was expired. The ensuing investigation revealed the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and had readily accessible cannabis inside the vehicle. The man was also allegedly operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and faces several additional charges under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA). He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old woman from Lunenburg, ON, was arrested on July 23, 2026, and charged with operation while prohibited. It is alleged on July 23, 2026, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was subsequently located by a member of the CPS, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Aug. 27, 2026.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, DANGEROUS OPERATION, FLIGHT FROM PEACE OFFICER, FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 23, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Three counts of operation while prohibited
• Dangerous operation
• Flight from peace officer
• Failure to stop after accident

On July 18, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was involved in a motor vehicle collision, failed to remain at the scene and fled police, driving his motor vehicle in a dangerous manner. It is also alleged he was operating the motor vehicle while prohibited. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On July 23, 2026, he was located by members of the CPS. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 23, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On June 4, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on June 2, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate in any way with his ex-spouse, to not be within 40 metres of any place he knows the woman to live, work or frequent and to not attend her residence. It is further alleged on this date, the man was in contact with his ex-spouse and attended her residence. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of three counts of fail to comply with release order. On July 23, 2026, police were once again dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. He was subsequently located by CPS officers and taken into custody. The warrant was executed and the man was held for a bail hearing. 

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 24, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting.

On May 27, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

On June 18, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.

On June 30, 2026, the man was once again scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court.

On July 24, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address these matters. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 24, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on April 7, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court. On July 24, 2026, the man was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 24, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 12, 2026, the woman attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. On July 24, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was investigating an unrelated matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 24, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants.

It is alleged on Oct. 31, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking.

It is also alleged on Nov. 8, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking.

On July 24, 2026, the man was located at the courthouse. The warrants were executed and he was later released to appear in court on Aug. 27, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 24, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants.

It is alleged on April 24, 2026, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is also alleged on June 16, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of failure to attend court while on release order.

On July 24, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrants were executed and she was later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.  

ASSAULT, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 24, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. In the early morning hours of June 6, 2026, members of the CPS responded to an assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman attempted to assault an individual known to her and uttered threats to cause them harm. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charges of assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. On July 24, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and she was later released to appear in court on Sept. 1, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on July 25, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of uttering threats to damage or injure animal. It is alleged on July 25, 2026, the youth was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to abide by house rules and to abide by house rules of no hurting animals. It is further alleged on this date, the youth threatened to kill an animal. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 25, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants.

It is alleged on April 23, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, he attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on April 27, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, he attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a second warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.  

On July 25, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrants were executed and he was later released to appear in court on Aug. 25, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS, MISCHIEF, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on July 25, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
• Uttering threats to cause damage to property
• Mischief under $5,000
• Criminal harassment – threatening conduct

In the early morning hours of July 26, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a family dispute, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or communicate in any way with his grandmother and to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows the woman to live, work or frequent. It is also alleged on this date, he attended his grandmother’s residence and threatened to damage her property. It is further alleged the man previously damaged the woman’s property and engaged in threatening conduct causing his grandmother to reasonably fear for her safety. He was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 26, 2026, and charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand. In the early morning hours of July 26, 2026, a CPS officer initiated a traffic stop, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While the officer was conducting an impaired operation investigation, she allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 25, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, UTTERING THREATS, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on July 26, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Three counts of fail to comply with undertaking
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
• Uttering threats to cause damage or injure animal
• Mischief under $5,000

On July 26, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a weapon’s call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not possess a firearm, crossbow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device, ammunition, prohibited ammunition or explosive substance, to not to be in possession of a knife except to prepare or consume food and to not to be with any animal unless in the accompaniment of a supervising adult. It is further alleged on this date, the youth was in possession of an edged weapon, threatened to kill a dog and damaged property in the residence. He was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was held for a bail hearing.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on July 26, 2026, and charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one count of uttering threats to damage property. On July 24, 2026, a member of the CPS was dispatched to a threat’s complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth allegedly threatened to physically harm two individuals known to him and threatened to damage the property of one of the individuals. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On July 26, 2026, the youth contacted the CPS to deal with the matter. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
