WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Ian Lacelle, 47, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 13, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Jan. 7, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Jan. 13, 2025, the man was located by a Cornwall Police Service officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed and the man was released to appear in court on Feb. 20, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Ali Basra, 30, of Brampton, ON, was arrested on Jan. 13, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 14, 2021, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Jan. 13, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Jan. 13, 2025, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Aug. 23, 2024, the woman slapped her spouse across the face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 13, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 4, 2025. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Jan. 13, 2025, and charged with domestic assault with a weapon and domestic assault. It is alleged on Jan. 13, 2025, the youth threw a lighter at her ex-boyfriend and hit him in the head. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located by police. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Renee Senecal, 49, of Moose Creek, ON, was arrested on Jan. 13, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Jan. 13, 2025, the woman attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was released to appear in court on Feb. 11, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – David Theoret, 48, of Moose Creek, ON, was arrested on Jan. 13, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with fail to comply with release order and possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine.

It is alleged on Aug. 5, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not communicate with a specific individual. It is also alleged on this date, the man sent a message to the individual he was prohibited from communicating with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for the man’s arrest.

On Jan. 13, 2025, a member of the CPS conducted a traffic stop in the area of Pitt Street and Ninth Street and an investigation ensued. The warrant was executed and further investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of a Schedule I substance.

He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Aimee Parry, 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 14, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with release order. On Jan. 14, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in her residence at all times. On Jan. 14, 2025, the woman was located by CPS officer, who was dealing with a separate matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
