SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Samiullah Sulaimankhil, 20, of Nepean, was arrested on Feb. 28, 2024, and charged with two counts of sexual assault. It is alleged on Feb. 28, 2024, the man sexually assaulted a woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on April 9, 2024.  

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Akwesasne woman was arrested on Feb. 28, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 29, 2023, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate with her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged on this date, the woman contacted the man. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Feb. 28, 2024, the woman was located and the warrant was executed. She was held for a bail hearing.

DANGEROUS OPERATION - DOMESTIC

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on Feb. 28, 2024, and charged with dangerous operation. On Feb. 28, 2024, the man was a passenger in his girlfriend’s motor vehicle, and it is alleged he pulled on the steering wheel which resulted in a collision. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 4, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Crysler woman was arrested on Feb. 28, 2024, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on Feb. 21, 2024, the woman made threats to her ex-boyfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Feb. 28, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 4, 2024. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

KILLING AN ANIMAL

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Feb. 28, 2024, and charged with killing an animal. It is alleged on Feb. 26, 2024, the man killed his ex-girlfriend’s dog. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Feb. 28, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 4, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of his ex-girlfriend.
