DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Dec. 2, 2024, and charged with domestic assault and forcible confinement. It is alleged on Dec. 2, 2024, the youth pushed his girlfriend and confined her to his bedroom. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Dec. 2, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Dec. 2, 2024, the woman assaulted her mother. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2025. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ROBBERY USING FIREARM, DISGUISE WITH INTENT, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT INDICTABLE OFFENCE, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Michel Laurin, 37, of Ottawa, was arrested on Dec. 2, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Robbery using firearm
  • Disguise with intent
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Forcible confinement
  • Mischief under $5,000

It is alleged on Oct. 14, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a separate probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any weapons.

It is alleged on Oct. 14, 2024, the man attended the residence of an individual known to him and robbed the individual with a weapon while in disguise. It is also alleged on this date, the man confined the individual to his residence. Furthermore, it is alleged, the man punctured the tire of the individual’s motor vehicle.

Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On Dec. 2, 2024, members of the Criminal Investigation Division located the man. He was taken into custody by members of the CPS, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Morgan McCreary, 45, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 2, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Dec. 2, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Carriere, 38, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 2, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 17, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Dec. 2, 2024, the woman was located by a member of the CPS who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed and she was held for a bail hearing.

There were 63 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
