SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old man from Kahnawake, QC, was arrested on April 9, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting and assault with intent to resist arrest. On April 9, 2026, members of the Cornwall Police Service attended a Second Street East business in relation to a disturb the peace call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. It is further alleged he assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer at the business. The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on May 19, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 9, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Break and enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Mischief over $5,000

On March 21, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a break and enter complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the man broke into a business, stole items and damaged property inside the building. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

On April 9, 2026, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS, ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 9, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5,000

On April 9, 2026, police were dispatched to a neighbour dispute and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged the man threatened to harm an individual, assaulted the individual and caused damage to the individual’s property. He was subsequently located by police. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 19, 2026.
