USE OF CREDIT CARD, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 26, 2025, and charged with use of credit card and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. On Sept. 26, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service were dispatched to a theft complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the youth stole a family member’s credit card, conducted a transaction using the card, and was found to be in possession of property obtained by crime. The youth was located by police. He was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and released to appear in court at a later date.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 27, 2025, on the strength of outstandings warrants and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with appearance notice
  • Domestic assault
  • Domestic assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on July 2, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. It is also alleged on July 15, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for her arrest.

On Sept. 27, 2025, the woman was located by a CPS officer who was on general patrol. The officer observed the woman swinging an axe at her ex-spouse. She was subsequently apprehended by police. The warrant was executed, the woman was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 27, 2025, and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on March 11, 2023, the man sexually assaulted an individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for the man’s arrest. On Sept. 27, 2025, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 30, 2025.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Kingston was arrested on Sept. 27, 2025, and charged with two counts of domestic assault with a weapon and one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic. On Sept. 27, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man pointed a bottle of air freshener at his spouse and threatened to spray her. It is also alleged he slammed a door, striking his spouse. Furthermore, it is alleged he threatened to kill the woman. The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Oct. 28, 2025.  

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 28, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Fail to attend
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon

It is alleged on June 3, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 28, 2025, the woman was located by a CPS officer who was on general patrol. A brief pursuit ensued before she was apprehended. It is alleged on this date, the was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to reside at a specific address. The investigation revealed the woman no longer resides at the specific address and that she was also in possession of an edged weapon. The warrant was executed, the woman was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 28, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and two counts of fail to comply with probation order.

It is alleged on Aug. 10, 2025, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with her boyfriend as well as a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she communicated with her boyfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On Sept. 28, 2025, a CPS officer was on general patrol and observed the woman in the presence of her boyfriend. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 28, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Sept. 28, 2025, a CPS officer was dispatched to an impaired driver complaint in the area of Brookdale Avenue, and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by police, and the investigation revealed he was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2025.

MISCHIEF, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 29, 2025, and charged with mischief – destroys or damages property and obstruct peace officer. In the early morning hours of Sept. 29, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to an attempted break and enter complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man damaged an individual’s property. He was located by a member of the CPS, and it is further alleged he obstructed police. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 30, 2025.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 174 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
