FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 63-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of fail to comply with release order. On Sept. 10, 2025, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to a bail violation complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Sept. 10, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not be within 25 metres of any children play structures or parks. He was also bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific address. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man was at the address he was prohibited from attending. On Sept. 16, 2025, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2025, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged:
- On May 28, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- On May 29, 2025, the woman attended the same Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and once again left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
As a result of the investigations, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the woman’s arrest. On Sept. 16, 2025, she attended police headquarters to address the matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2025.
WARRANTS, FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested on Sept. 16, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with the following:
- Six counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Four counts of fail to comply with release order
- Six counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Fail to attend
It is alleged on June 8, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
It is alleged on June 10, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
It is alleged on June 15, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
It is alleged on June 16, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged on this date, the man once again attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
It is alleged on June 22, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
It is alleged on June 25, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
It is alleged on Aug. 7, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
On Sept. 16, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2025, and charged with two counts of assault. It is alleged on Sept. 16, 2025, the youth assaulted two individuals known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST
Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
It is alleged on Sept. 16, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. The man then allegedly assaulted the business’ Loss Prevention Officer, who was attempting to arrest him, breaking the individual’s fingers. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY, IMPAIRED, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with undertaking
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
On Sept. 16, 2025, members of the CPS responded to a possible impaired driver complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not possess any flammable substance or incendiary devices. It is also alleged, the man was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. Further investigation revealed the man was in possession of a torch as well as drugs. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 7, 2025.
