FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 9, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Sept. 8, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate in any way with his ex-girlfriend and to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows his ex-girlfriend to live, work or frequent. It is also alleged on this date, the man communicated with his ex-girlfriend via a social media application. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Sept. 8, 2025, the man attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 9, 2025, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm as well as uttering threats to damage property. It is alleged on Aug. 29, 2025, the man threatened to kill an individual known to him and threatened to burn down his property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Sept. 9, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 2, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 9, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 9, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on Oct. 16, 2025.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 9, 2025, and charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged:
- On Aug. 23, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- On Aug. 28, 2025, the woman attended another Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- On Sept. 3, 2025, the woman attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
As a result of the investigations, police formed reasonable and probably grounds for the woman’s arrest. On Sept. 9, 2025, she was located by a CPS officer who was on general patrol. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 16, 2025.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 55-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 9, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 4, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Sept. 9, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer who was dealing with a separate matter. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.
REFUSAL
Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 9, 2025, and charged with refusal to comply with demand. On Sept. 9, 2025, police responded to an ambulance assist call, and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, the man allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 16, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 22, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended the Second Street East business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. In the early morning hours of Sept. 10, 2025, police were dispatched to a suspicious person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on Oct. 16, 2025.
