FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION CONTRARY TO PROHIBITION ORDER

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 4, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

It is alleged on Oct. 24, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Police formed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

On Nov. 4, 2025, the man was taken into custody by members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on an unrelated matter and subsequently turned over to the Cornwall Police Service. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence, as well as a prohibition order with the relevant condition to not be in possession of ammunition. Further investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of ammunition contrary to his prohibition order. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 4, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged that immediately after his release on previous charges, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not send emails to any address associated with the Cornwall Courthouse. It is further alleged the man sent numerous emails to the Cornwall Courthouse. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 15, 2025, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to notify the CPS of any change of address. He failed to do so. On Nov. 4, 2025, the man was taken into custody by members of the OPP and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 4, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 7, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Nov. 4, 2025, the woman was located by police. The warrant was executed, and she was held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 4, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • 19 counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

It is alleged on Oct. 3, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. He was also bound by two other separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on Oct. 3, 2025, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on Nov. 1, 2025, and again on Nov. 3, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street East business. He was also bound by a third probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on these dates, the man attended the Ninth Street East business he was prohibited from visiting. Police were contacted after each occurrence and investigations ensued.

On Nov. 4, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer who was dealing with a separate matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 11, 2025.

Later on Nov. 4, 2025, it is alleged the man was once again bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street East business. He was also bound by a third probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Additionally, he was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend a Ninth Street East business. It is also alleged on the evening of Nov. 4, 2025, the man attended the Ninth Street East business he was prohibited from visiting. Police were contacted an investigation ensued. Members of the CPS circulated the area, and the man was subsequently located. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, PERSONATION WITH INTENT TO AVOID ARREST, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 4, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Fail to attend court
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (identity fraud)
  • Obstruct peace officer

It is alleged on Oct. 16, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest.  

In the early morning hours of Oct. 23, 2025, police were dispatched to a shoplift complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman gave a CPS officer a false name, fraudulently impersonating another individual to avoid arrest.

On Nov. 4, 2025, the woman was located by police, who were dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
