DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 6, 2026, and charged with domestic assault. On Jan. 5, 2026, a member of the Cornwall Police Service was dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted his wife. As a result of the investigation, police formed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Jan. 6, 2026, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 27, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 6, 2026, and charged with eight counts of fail to comply with probation order and two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on Oct. 6, 2025, and again on Oct. 8, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a third probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is also alleged on Oct. 6, 2025, and on Oct. 8, 2025, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store on both occasions without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

On Jan. 6, 2026, the man was located at the Cornwall Courthouse. He was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 6, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Dec. 30, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to sign in with the CPS as required. It is also alleged he failed to sign in on Dec. 30, 2025. On Jan. 6, 2026, the man attended police headquarters. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 12, 2026.  

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 6, 2026, and charged with domestic assault. On Jan. 6, 2026, police responded to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman assaulted her husband. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Feb. 3, 2026.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 7, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant charged with fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged from July 11, 2025, to Dec. 23, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer. He failed to do so, and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. In the early morning hours of Jan. 7, 2026, police responded to an unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by a CPS officer. The warrant was executed, and he was later released to appear in court on Feb. 12, 2026.
