BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on January 19th, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting her boyfriend. It is alleged on October 23rd, 2022, the youth was in the company of her boyfriend while police were investigating an unrelated matter. On January 19th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5000 X 3

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Szalai, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on January 19th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court on January 12th, 2023. She was also charged with three counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged between December 2nd, 2022 and January 14th, 2023, the woman attended three businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the stores on either occasion. On January 19th, 2023, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 20th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged on September 15th, 2020, the man failed to attend court for a domestic assault offence. It is further alleged in July of 2020, the man breached his conditions by failing to remain in his residence and changing his address without permission from the Court. On January 20th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic occurrence and would identify the victim in the matter.
