WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kimberley Dobbs, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on January 13th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breached her conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On January 13th, 2023, she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Brockville man was arrested on January 13th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on August 31st, 2022, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite the conditions of his release order, and police were contacted to investigate. On January 13th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Heather Leishman, 24, of Martintown, ON was arrested on January 14th, 2023 and charged with operation while impaired and over 80. It is alleged on January 14th, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 9th, 2023.

TWO ARRESTED IN MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT INVESTIGATION

Cornwall, ON – Mohamed Boureghit, 22, and Ely Cetoute, 23, both of Laval, QC were arrested on January 14th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Attempt theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession of automobile master key x 2
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Possession of break-in instruments

Mohamed Boureghit was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by a curfew.

It is alleged during the early morning hours on January 14th, 2023, police were called to investigate a suspicious person complaint, as an individual was observed attempting to take his motor vehicle. An investigation ensued and later that morning, police located the suspect during a traffic stop. Two men were located inside the suspect motor vehicle, at which time they were taken into custody and found to be in possession of two automobile master keys and break-in tools. They were both charged accordingly and held in custody to await a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – McKenzie-Maureen Morrison, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on January 14th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Theft under $5000 x 2
  • Breach of probation x 2 (for failing to keep the peace)
  • Breach of release order x 4 (for failing to remain in her residence, failing to reside with her surety and failing to notify police of a change of address)

It is alleged on January 10th, 2023 and January 14th, 2023, the woman attended two Second Street businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the stores on either occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 14th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000, UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Aston Ellis, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on January 15th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000, unlawful use of credit card and breach of release order for failing to report a change of address and failing to abide by a curfew. It is alleged on December 13th, 2022, the man took a quantity of money and headphones from someone known to him without their permission. It is further alleged the man used the victim’s debit card without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 15th, 2023, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2023.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jason Turcotte, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on January 15th, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for attending a certain residence. It is alleged on January 15th, 2023, the man attended a certain residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2023.

REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – Tina Phillips, 45, of Norfolk, NY was arrested on January 15th, 2023 and charged with refusal to comply with demand. It is alleged on January 15th, 2023, while stopped at the Canadian Port of Entry, the woman was believed to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and subsequently refused to provide a sample of breath. Police were subsequently contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she once again refused to provide a sample of her breath upon demand. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 9th, 2023.
