THEFT UNDER $5000, UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD DATA X 3

 Cornwall, ON – Timothy Reid, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on January 9th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000, as well as three counts of unlawful use of credit card data. It is alleged on January 9th, 2023, the man took a wallet from someone he did not know and made three purchases using credit cards that were within the wallet. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 14th, 2023.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Cory Carriere, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on January 10th, 2023 and charged with assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 10th, 2023, the man assaulted someone known to him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

On January 10th, 2023 at approximately 7:40 pm, the Cornwall Police Service was called to respond to a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a single motor vehicle. The collision occurred in the area of Second Street East and Baldwin Avenue. The driver of the motor vehicle was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased.

The next of kin of the deceased have been notified and out of respect for the family, no further details are being released at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
