DRIVING WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Lorel Thompson, 41, of Akwesasne was arrested on December 9th, 2022, and charged with two counts of driving while prohibited. It is alleged that on December 9th, 2022, the woman attended the Port of Entry and was taken into custody by the Border Services Officer for driving while prohibited. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Investigation revealed the woman was bound by bound by a driving prohibition with the relevant conditions to not operate a motor vehicle and to complete a remedial course before being permitted to drive. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on January 17th, 2023.

DOMESTIC THREATS, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, ANIMAL CRUELTY, BESTIALITY

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old male was arrested on December 9th, 2022, and charged with uttering threats, forcible confinement, two counts of cruelty to animals and bestiality. On December 9th, 2022, police were contacted in regards to a domestic dispute and an investigation ensued.

As a result of the investigation the following allegations were made;

  • Between December 1st and 31st day of December 2021, the male killed a rabbit without lawful authority.
  • Between the 1st and 30th day of October, 2022, the male threatened to cause harm to his girlfriend.
  • Between the 1st and 9th day of December, 2022, the man forcibly confined his girlfriend.
  • On December 7th, 2022, the male attempted to compel the victim to commit sexual acts with an animal.
  • On December 8th, 2022, the male caused harm to their dog.

The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old woman of Cornwall was arrested on December 9th, 2022, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on November 10th, 2022, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On December 9th, 2022, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as her outstanding charges are as a result of a domestic dispute, and could identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on December 10th, 2022, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged that on November 28th, 2022, the man assaulted his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 10th, 2022, the male was located during an unrelated matter, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old male and female were arrested on December 10th, 2022, and were both charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged that on December 10th, 2022, both parties were involved in a verbal argument which lead to both of them damaging property within their residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Both parties were taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as they the matter is domestic in nature.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jatin Shiyani, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on December 10th, 2022, and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged that on December 10th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle in the area of Fourth Street while under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on January 3rd, 2023.

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Deven McLaughlin, 28, of Cornwall, was arrested on December 11th, 2022, and charged with three counts of probation. It is alleged that on December 11th, 2022, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not to attend a certain business, and not to communicate with any employee of the same business. On this date, the man attended the business he was prohibited from, communicated with the employee the was working, and conducted himself in a manor that resulted on police being contacted. An investigation ensued and as a result, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on January 30th, 2023.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old male was arrested on December 11th, 2022, and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged that on December 11th, 2022, the man damaged his girlfriend’s cell phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

THEFT UNDER $5000, WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Burles, 38, of Cornwall, was arrested on December 11th, 2022, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with two counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged that on May 18th, 2022, the man attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise and left without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. It is also alleged that on May 25th, 2022, the man attended a Second Street Business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Furthermore, it is alleged that on June 28th, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 11th, 2022, the male was located during an unrelated incident, the warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and he was released to appear in court on January 17th, 2022.

THEFT UNDER $5000, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Joel Eenkhoorn, 57, of Cornwall was arrested on December 11th, 2022, and charged with assault and theft under $5000. It is alleged that on December 11th, 2022, the man attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay for it. When the man was confronted by the store’s Loss Prevention Investigator, the man assaulted the officer. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was charged taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on January 17th, 2022.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Trey Bobb, 25, of Cornwall, was arrested on December 12th, 2022, and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged that on December 12th, 2022, the man caused damage to his neighbour’s property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on January 17th, 2023.
