WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Anthony Purkis, 37, of Ottawa was arrested on November 18th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on August 11th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a previous fail to attend court offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On November 18th, 2022, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 19th, 2022 and charged with domestic mischief and breach of undertaking for contacting his girlfriend. It is alleged on November 18th, 2022, the man damaged a window at her residence and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 6th, 2022 with conditions to not contact the woman. During the early morning hours on November 19th, 2022 the man had contacted the woman, despite his conditions, and police once again attended to take the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 19th, 2022 and charged with harassing communications. It is alleged on November 19th, 2022, the woman repeatedly contacted her ex-boyfriend, despite being warned to stop. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 6th, 2022. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
