WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jarritt Massia-Leger, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on October 28th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on October 27th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a weapons offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 28th, 2022, the warrant was executed while the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jamie Walker, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on October 28th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on October 26th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a fraud offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 28th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Gatineau woman was arrested on October 28th, 2022 and charged with breach of recognizance for contacting her ex-boyfriend, being within a certain distance of him and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 21st, 2022, the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence, despite her conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On October 28th, 2022, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 22nd, 2022. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 29th, 2022 and charged with uttering threats. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend, the man made threats to harm her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 22nd, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Brampton man was arrested on October 29th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his wife, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 8th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, RESIST POLICE, OBSTRUCT POLICE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ethan Hemelaar, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on October 29th, 2022 and charged with the following:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine)
  • Resist police
  • Obstruct police
  • Breach of release order (for contacting a certain person)

It is alleged on October 19th, the youth attended a Second Street business with an individual he has conditions of no contact with, and removed a quantity of merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. On October 29th, 2022, police located the man while investigating an unrelated matter. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Denis Billette, 57, of Cornwall was arrested on October 30th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with failing to attend for fingerprints and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 25th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged he failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints on August 10th, 2022. On October 30th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 13th, 2022.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Wright, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on October 30th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on October 24th, 2022, the woman failed to attend court for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On October 30th, 2022, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 30th, 2022 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his mother, the youth assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 31st, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his common-law-wife, the man assaulted the woman and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on October 31st, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with her common-law-husband, she assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
