THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 13th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 28th, 2022, the youth took a bicycle from someone he did not know and police were contacted to investigate. On September 13th, 2022, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Gisele Dumond, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2022 on the strength of multiple warrants. It is alleged on July 12 and August 17, 2022 the woman failed to attend court, as well as failed to attend for fingerprints on July 4th, 2022. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for her arrest. On September 14th, 2022, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing.

FRAUD UNDER $5000 X 2, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Richard Saulnier, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2022 and charged with two counts of fraud under $5000, as well as possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 7 and March 7, 2022, the man had taken two cheques that did not belong to him and deposited the cheques into his bank account without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 14th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 27th, 2022.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Lemieux, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2022 and charged with assault with a weapon and breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation with someone known to her, the woman struck the victim with a piece of wood and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 18th, 2022.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 14th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of undertaking for contacting a certain person. It is alleged on June 15th, 2022, the 14-year-old and another youth, who he has conditions of no contact with, attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as they left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 14th, 2022, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5000 X 3, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME X 3, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 15th, 2022 and charged with the following:

  • Theft under $5000 x 3
  • Criminal harassment
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of probation x 6 (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on three occasions between July and September 2022, the man attended two local businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the stores on any occasion. It is further alleged on September 14th, 2022, the man had been watching his ex-girlfriend in her residence and police were contacted to investigate. On September 15th, 2022, he was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of clothing that had been reported stolen. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the domestic-related incident.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Proulx, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on September 15th, 2022 and charged with three counts of breach of undertaking for contacting two individuals and attending a certain residence. It is alleged on September 15th, 2022, the woman attended a certain residence and had contact with two individuals, despite her conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 18th, 2022.

THREATS, PUBLICATION OF AN INTIMATE IMAGE WITHOUT CONSENT

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 16th, 2022 and charged with uttering threats and publication of an intimate image without consent. It is alleged between August and September, the woman made threats to kill her ex-girlfriend. It is further alleged on September 15th, 2022, the woman distributed intimate images of the victim via social media without her consent. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
