BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Trevor Samler, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on July 29th, 2022 and charged with breach of release order for failing to abide by his curfew. It is alleged during the night of July 27th, 2022, the man failed to return to his residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On July 29th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 30th, 2022 and charged with domestic mischief, uttering threats and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend on July 30th, the man damaged the woman’s bed and further made threats to cause damages to her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 30th, 2022 and charged with domestic mischief and uttering threats. It is alleged on July 30th, 2022, the man damaged a door at his girlfriend’s residence, as well as made threats to cause further damage to the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 16th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Lauzon, 36, of St. Andrews West was arrested on July 30th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between July 21-24, 2022, the individual attended a Wallrich Avenue business and removed a quantity of items from the property without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 30th, 2022, police located the individual and they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 6th, 2022.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Tessier, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on July 30th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on May 31st, 2022, the man made threats to harm two individuals known to him and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 30th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 6th, 2022.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 30th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on July 4th, 2022, the youth failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On July 30th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

COUPLE ARRESTED FOR HAVING CONTACT DESPITE CONDITIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Long Sault man and a 25-year-old Cornwall woman were both arrested on July 31st, 2022 and charged with breach of release order for having contact with each other. The woman was also charged with obstruct police. It is alleged on July 31st, 2022, police responded to a suspicious person complaint and located the man and woman in each other’s company, despite their conditions. During the investigation, the woman provided a false name to police. They were both taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as the conditions stem from a previous domestic occurrence and would identify the victims in the matter.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Michael Hazuda, 52, of Cornwall was arrested on July 31st, 2022 and charged with assault. It is alleged on April 26th, 2022, the man assaulted someone known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On July 31st, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 6th, 2022.

ARMED ROBBERY X 2, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Lisa Filion, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on July 31st, 2022 and charged with two counts of armed robbery, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged on July 31st, 2022, the woman demanded a purse from a woman known to her, and medication from a man known to her, all the while brandishing an edged weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Deven McLaughlin, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on August 1st, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000 and uttering threats. It is alleged on multiple occasions during the morning of August 1st, the man attended a Pitt Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store on any occasion. It is further alleged the man made threats to harm an employee of the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 6th, 2022.
