WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Eric Wilson, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on December 13th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on December 1st, 2021 for a previous fail to attend court offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 13th, 2021, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on December 13th, 2021 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged on December 12th, she assaulted her father’s girlfriend with a can opener and police were contacted to investigate. On December 13th, 2021, she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 24th, 2022. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on December 13th, 2021 and charged with assault with a weapon, and two counts of breach of release order for contacting her boyfriend and being within a certain distance of his residence. It is alleged during an altercation with her boyfriend on December 13th, the woman assaulted him with a shovel and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Viet Thong Dang, 44, of Hamilton, was arrested on December 13th, 2021 and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. It is alleged on December 13th, 2021, police received a report of a stolen motor vehicle and an investigation ensued. Shortly thereafter, police were able to recover the vehicle during a traffic stop. The man was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
