ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Rex Liddle, 79, of Cornwall was arrested on November 5th, 2021 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an altercation with someone known to him on November 5th, the man assaulted the person and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 13th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 5th, 2021 and charged with domestic assault and domestic mischief. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on November 5th, the man assaulted her and damaged her phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on November 5th, 2021 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with her boyfriend, the youth assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as it is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Simser, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on November 5th, 2021 on the strength of multiple warrants. It is alleged between January and August 2021, the man took a watch, tools and money belonging to several parties known to him without their permission. He is further alleged to have failed to attend court on February 16th, 2021 for a theft offence. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On November 5th, 2021, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released to appear in court on January 18th, 2022.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jason Thompson, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on November 6th, 2021 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged during the early morning hours on November 6th, 2021, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol when the vehicle became involved in a collision with a parked motor vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 13th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 6th, 2021 and charged with domestic assault and breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-common-law wife. It is alleged on November 5th, 2021, an altercation took place between the man and his ex-common-law wife, at which time the man assaulted the woman, and police were subsequently contacted. On November 6th, 2021, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Andrea Bedard, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on November 6th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints on August 12, 2021 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On November 6th, 2021, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on January 13th, 2022.

BREAK AND ENTER, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Nicholas Bancroft, 24, and Ashton Page-Cholette, 21, both of Cornwall, were arrested on November 6th, 2021 and charged with break and enter. Nicholas Bancroft was also charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged on November 6th, 2021, both men forced their way into the residence of someone known to them, where they assaulted the victim and Nicholas Bancroft brandished a knife during the assault. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, both men were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 13th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON - A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 6th, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Domestic assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Uttering threats
  • Breach of undertaking x 2 (for contacting his ex-common-law wife and being within a certain distance of her)

It is alleged on November 6th, 2021, the man attended the residence of his ex-common-law wife, where an altercation ensued. During the altercation, the man assaulted her, made threats to harm her, and prevented her from leaving the residence. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000 X 2

Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on November 7th, 2021 and charged with two counts of mischief under $5000. It is alleged on November 3 and November 7, 2021, the youth attended a Marleau Avenue business and caused damage to vehicles in the area. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 7th, 2021, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Daniel Wattie, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on November 7th, 2021 and charged with assault. It is alleged while attending a Second Street business on November 7th, the man assaulted someone he did not know and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 18th, 2022.
