SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Sept. 16, 2024, and charged with sexual interference and fail to comply with probation order.
It is alleged on Aug. 29, 2024, the youth committed sexual interference by touching another youth known to him for a sexual purpose. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
It is also alleged on Sept. 5, 2024, the youth was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate with a specific individual. It is alleged on this date, the youth was in contact with the individual he was prohibited from communicating with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
On Sept. 16, 2024, the youth was located by members of the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – Shawn Laroche, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on Sept. 16, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Sept. 1, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to reside at a specific address and to notify the CPS of any change of address. On Sept. 1, 2024, police responded to a bail violation complaint and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was no longer residing at the specific address he was supposed to be living at and failed to notify police. On Sept. 16, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 22, 2024.
POSSESSION OF PROCEEDS OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING
Cornwall, ON – Danny Courchesne, 49, of Gatineau, QC, was arrested on Sept. 16, 2024, and charged with the following:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
A search warrant was conducted on June 9, 2024, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on June 9, 2024, the man was in possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime as well as Schedule I substances for the purpose of trafficking. On Sept. 16, 2024, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
