MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Matthieu Lafontaine, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on March 15th, 2022 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged on March 15th, 2022, the man damaged a door in his apartment building and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 26th, 2022.

UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, BREACH X 9

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 15th, 2022 and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, as well as nine counts of breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her, and attending her residence. It is alleged between March 14-15, 2022, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and entered without permission, despite his conditions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 15th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his wife on March 15th, 2022, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 24th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
