SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Matthieu Brunet, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on December 13th, 2022 and charged with four counts of theft under $5000, as well as breach of release order for failing to remain in his residence. It is alleged between November 21, 2022 and December 12, 2022, the man attended a Ninth Street business on four occasions and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 13th, 2022, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FRAUD OVER $5000, FRAUD UNDER $5000, UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD, CRIMINAL BREACH OF TRUST

Cornwall, ON – A 65-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 13th, 2022 and charged with fraud over $5000, fraud under $5000, unlawful use of credit card and criminal breach of trust. It is alleged between 2020 and May of 2022, the man, who was a designated trustee of his mother’s finances, took a quantity of money exceeding $5000 from her bank account, as well as used her bank card to make personal purchases. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 13th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 26, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Darryl Larocque, 34, of Vars, ON was arrested on December 13th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 13th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on January 17th, 2023.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Dominic Plante, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on December 13th, 2022 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged between December 9-13, 2022, the man attended a Ninth Street business on two occasions and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store on either occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 26th, 2023.

DANGEROUS OPERATION CAUSING BODILY HARM, FAIL TO STOP AT AN ACCIDENT RESULTING IN BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – Nicholas Ladouceur, 24, of Gatineau, QC was arrested on December 13th, 2022 and charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, as well as fail to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm. It is alleged on December 13th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area of Pitt Street and Second Street, at which time he struck a pedestrian and failed to remain at the scene. Police located the man shortly thereafter, at which time he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and was released to appear in court on January 26th, 2023. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with injuries.

BREACH, ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Justin Langlois, 52, of Cornwall was arrested on December 13th, 2022 and charged with assault police and breach of release order for attending a certain address. It is alleged on December 13th, 2022, the man was located at a certain address, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged accordingly and held in custody to await a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 14th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on July 13th, 2021 for a mischief offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 14th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on January 26th, 2023. His name was not released as it stems from an incident that would identify the victim in the matter.
