WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Adam Zeran, 46, of Long Sault was arrested on December 6th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on October 12th, 2022 for a mischief offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 6th, 2022 he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on January 12th, 2023.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jean Desjarlais, 35, of Riceville, ON was arrested on December 6th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on October 31, 2017 for an impaired operation offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 6th, 2022 he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 6th, 2022 and charged with two counts of domestic mischief. It is alleged on December 6th, 2022, during an altercation with his wife, the man damaged a television and gaming device. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 20th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED DRIVING INVESTIGATION LEADS TO SEIZURE OF ILLICIT DRUGS AND BRASS KNUCKLES

Cornwall, ON – On December 6th, 2022, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Fifth Street and Sydney Street, at which time the driver is alleged to have been operating the motor vehicle while impaired by drug. During the investigation, a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, Canadian currency and brass knuckles were located. The following individuals were taken into custody and charged as follows:

Trevor Smith, 52, of Greely:

  • Operation while impaired by drug

Barbara Collins, 31, of Cornwall:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine)
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Tyler McMillan, 28, of Berwick:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Breach of release order (for possessing a weapon)

Naser Hammid, 21, of Ottawa:

  • Obstruct police officer (for provided a false name)

Barbara Collins and Tyler McMillan were held in custody for a bail hearing. Trevor Smith was released to appear in court on December 29th, 2022 and Naser Hammid was released to appear in court on January 12th, 2023.
