THREE INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED FOLLOWING ONGOING INVESTIGATION INTO SHOPLIFTING AT A SECOND STREET BUSINESS

Cornwall, ON – On July 14th, 2022, at approximately 8:00 pm, the CPS received a 9-1-1 call to respond to a theft at a Second Street business, in which the suspects had allegedly been assaultive towards staff of the business. Following an ongoing investigation in relation to the incident, the following individuals have been taken into custody:

Kyrell Driscoll, 18, of Cornwall:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Theft under $5000 x 2

A 14-year-old youth of Cornwall:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Theft under $5000 x 2

A 17-year-old youth of Cornwall:

  • Theft under $5000

It is alleged on July 4th, 2022, Kyrell Driscoll and the 14-year-old youth attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as they left the store.

On July 9th, 2022, the individuals once again attended the business, along with the 17-year-old youth, and allegedly removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as they left the store.

On July 14th, 2022, Kyrell Driscoll and the 14-year-old youth attended the business and allegedly removed merchandise without making any attempt to pay for the items. They were stopped by an employee who they assaulted before exiting the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On August 3rd, 2022, the individuals attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Kyrell Driscoll was released to appear in court on September 8th, 2022. The names of the youths are not being released per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
