WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth of Cornwall was arrested on May 13th, 2022, and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged that on April 29th, 2022, the youth was scheduled to attend court for an outstanding weapons offence and failed to do so, and as a result, a warrant issued for his arrest. On May 13th, 2022, the warrant was executed and the youth was held for a bail hearing. The name of the youth was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Faraz Mehmood, 23, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 13th, 2022, and charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and over 80. It is alleged that on May 13th, 2022, police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Montreal Road, and the man was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 14th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man of Cornwall, was arrested on May 13th, 2022, and charged with assault. It is alleged that on May 13th, 2022, the man struck his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was arrested, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 7th, 2022. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

ASSAULT, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old female of Cornwall was arrested on May 15th, 2022, and charged with assault and breach of probation. It is alleged during an altercation with her ex-boyfriend on May 15th, 2022, the woman struck her ex-boyfriend. Police were contacted and investigation revealed the female was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, and not contact or be in the presence of her ex-boyfriend. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 7th, 2022. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
