FRAUD UNDER $5000, UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Steven Helie, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on March 17th, 2022 and charged with fraud under $5000, utter forged document, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 29th, 2020, the man deposited a stolen cheque into his bank account and obtained money not belonging to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 17th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 13th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 13th, 2022, the man assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On March 17th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 24th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 17th, 2022 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged between March 1-17, 2022, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite being warned to stop. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 17th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 24th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FAIL TO ATTEND COURT

Cornwall, ON – Gabriel Yeboah, 27, of Caledon East, ON, was arrested on March 18th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on March 9th, 2022 for a previous fail to attend court offence and police were contacted. On March 18th, 2022, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 26th, 2022.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Alexis MacDermid, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on March 18th, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on March 18th, 2022, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Second Street East. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 26th, 2022.
