YOUTH IN POLICING INITIATIVE (YIPI) – SUMMER 2025

The CPS Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) is a paid personal, professional, and community development opportunity for Cornwall youth aged 15-18. The program is in partnership with Ontario's Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).
This is a paid student position for 8 weeks (June 30, 2025 to Aug. 22, 2025). The successful candidates will work 32 hours per week and are required to attend in person.
As a Youth in Policing Student, we want all members to be U.N.I.T.E.D.

To qualify for the Youth in Policing Student position, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 15-18
- Reside in the City of Cornwall or Akwesasne
- Be currently enrolled in secondary school
- Be returning to secondary or post-secondary school in September of 2025
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Be available to attend work in person for the entire duration of the program
- Not be the child of a parent who currently works for the CPS
Selection
As a part of the selection for this position, all applicants will be assessed through a resume review, pre-screening questionnaire, interviews, and a background investigation.
